Pharrell Williams Talks Mountie Hat in Elle UK July 2014 

Given his prolific music career it’s no wonder Pharrell Williams is one of the primo tastemakers in hip hop culture.
The “Happy” singer is featured on the cover of ELLE UK's July 2014 issue, though his Native American headdress has been the target of criticism.

Speaking of lids, Williams told Elle that his world-famous Vivienne Westwood mountain hat isn’t actually a new addition to his wardrobe.
Pharrell explained, "I remembered (Malcolm McLaren's) Buffalo Gals video, where he wears the hat. I actually wore it five years before I was photographed in it, it's just that no-one was paying attention at the time."
