Gwyneth Paltrow Heats Up Harper's BAZAAR's Daring Issue

Who better to cover the annual Daring issue of Harper’s BAZAAR than a woman who has paved the path for many — as an actress as well as the founder of Goop — Gwyneth Paltrow.

In the November 2016 issue, on newsstands October 18, Full Frontal’s Samantha Bee chats with the 44-year-old big screen beauty about daring, her drive, and why living well is the best revenge.

With the Alexi Lubomirski shot cover and spread seeing Miss Paltrow clad in items including a La Perla bodysuit, Eres swimwear, a Saint Laurent jacket, a Valentino cape and jewelry from Bulgari, highlights from the interview are below. For more, be sure to grab a copy of Harper's BAZAAR's Daring issue!

On encouraging her children to take risks:
“In my case, I’ve borne these two kids into a particularly strange circumstance. They are going to have to fend off a lot and protect themselves from a lot of projections and prejudice about who they are, coming from the family that they come from. My daughter is super ballsy. I always follow her lead. I actually don’t need to encourage her to take risks. She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get. It’s really inspiring to see that in a young woman.”

On why all women are amazing by 40:
“If you haven’t taken all of life’s incredible knocks and disappointments and used them to become a fully integrated, self-expressing person by the time you’re 40, then what can I tell you?”

Blake Lively Gives Birth - Report

Actress Blake Lively has reportedly given birth to her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds.

The Savages beauty welcomed the tot at a hospital in Manhattan, New York, a source tells the New York Post's Page Six gossip column.

No further details about the child's birth were available as of yet, and a representative for the new parents has yet to comment on the news.

The newborn is a sibling for Blake and Ryan's daughter James, who will turn two in December.

Meanwhile, the family's new arrival already has friends in high places - the insider reveals Taylor Swift was en route to visit mother and baby on Friday morning (September 30).

The pop superstar was among the guests at Blake's baby shower, which doubled as her 29th birthday bash, in the Big Apple in late August, when the actress gathered friends and family at the Campagna restaurant at the Bedford Post Inn, which is owned by Richard Gere.

It was not known whether the couple was expecting a baby boy or girl, as the party location was decorated with gender-neutral white and green balloons.

The news of Blake's pregnancy first surfaced in April, and she debuted her growing baby bump at the world premiere of her Woody Allen film Cafe Society at the Cannes Film Festival in France in May.

Blake and Ryan have made no secret of their desire to have a big family.

"I'm one of five kids; my husband's one of four," Blake explained during an interview on U.S. breakfast show Today in June, before joking, "We're officially breeders! You can go on our website and we will give you some of our children."

The couple wed in 2012.

Mini Macaroni & Cheese Cups #Recipe

Cook Time: 10 min
Prep Time: 20 min

Ingredients
( Serves 20 )
2 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/3 cup whole milk (warmed)
1/2 cup sharp Cheddar cheese (shredded)
1/2 cup Gruyère cheese (shredded)
1 whole large egg yolk
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped chives (optional)

Directions
1.  Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (218ºC). Use 1 tablespoon of butter to generously grease a 24-cup mini-muffin tin (Note: you only need to grease 20 of the cups). Sprinkle each cup with a thin layer of breadcrumbs. Make sure to reserve some breadcrumbs for topping the mac and cheese later on.
2.   In a medium-sized pot over medium-high heat, bring 3-4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the water. Once boiling, add macaroni noodles to the pot and allow to cook until they're just barely al dente. (The pasta should be just a tad soft but undercooked, as it will continue to soften as it cooks in the oven).
3.  Remove pot of pasta from heat, drain the macaroni, and rinse it under cold water. Return macaroni to the pot and set aside while you make the cheese sauce.
4.   In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute (while stirring constantly), or until the mixture turns slightly beige and is bubbly. Increase the heat to medium and slowly whisk in the warm milk. Bring to a simmer then reduce heat to low and allow to continue simmering for about 2 minutes (still whisking constantly) until the sauce thickens.
5.  Add cheddar and Gruyère to the sauce in 1/2-cup increments, whisking until the cheese melts before adding more. Pour the sauce over the macaroni and stir to combine.
6.  In a bowl, combine egg yolk, heavy cream, smoked paprika, black pepper, and 1/2 tsp salt. Beat until well mixed. Add egg mixture to pot of pasta and stir until everything is well-combined.
7.   Press about 1 tablespoon of the macaroni mixture into each mini-muffin cup until all of the macaroni has been used up (about 20 mini cups total). Sprinkle breadcrumbs over each cup.
8.  Bake macaroni cups for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese sauce is bubbly and the tops are lightly browned. Remove pan from oven and allow the macaroni cups to rest for 5 minutes in the pan. Flip pan over onto a serving platter to remove cups and arrange as you'd like.
9.  Garnish mac and cheese cups with chopped chives. Serve immediately.
NOTE: The mac and cheese cups can be baked, cooled, and refrigerated, tightly covered, for up to 2 days. Reheat them in a 375 degrees F until warmed through, 7 to 10 minutes.

#ChloëGraceMoretz Covers #TeenVogue October/November 2016 Issue

Bringing her charm to newsstands nationwide, the lovely Chloë Grace Moretz graces the cover of the October/November issue of Teen Vogue magazine.

Set to hit shelves in the States on September 27th, the editorial sees the 19-year-old actress open up to Julianne Moore about always speaking her mind, navigating social media, and, of course, young love.

With Miss Moretz clad in Coach for the Bruce Weber photographed accompanying spread, a few highlights from her interview are below. For more, be sure to grab a copy of Teen Vogue later this month!

On being impacted by movies and choosing roles in films:
"I think I was 10 years old when I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s and saw Audrey Hepburn on the screen, and I remember reacting to her as an actress and just smiling. I recall thinking, That’s what I want to make people do. I want to make people feel. I want to make people have an experience when they go to my movies that they might not be able to have outside of that. Films were a place for me to find out more about myself, which became very therapeutic as I grew up… I never found the role of the little girl or the daughter very interesting. That’s why I wanted to make movies like Kick-Ass when I was 11 and Carrie when I was 15. I couldn’t not play the strong female in a movie, really. It just didn’t click."

On being okay with not being perfect and content with things as they are:
“This year especially, I had to realize that it’s OK to ask for help— it’s OK to not know. As a young woman you feel like you really need to have everything figured out—but it’s all right to say, ‘I don’t know. I have absolutely no idea.’ Keep good people around you because positivity begets positivity. I learned that the hard way. Just try to keep your head above the water and don’t get caught up in all the trash. I think another thing that is really helpful for young women to understand is that you’re enough. You don’t need that dress, you don’t need that compliment, you don’t need that post on social media. You, within yourself, are enough. And, finally, don’t underestimate the power of friendship."

#GigiHadid 's Tommy Hotness For Harper's BAZAAR October 2016

She's the world’s most in-demand model and recently named co-designer of the new Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid Collection, so it comes as little surprise to find Gigi Hadid as the selection to cover the October issue of Harper’s BAZAAR.

As part of the spotlight editorial, the 21-year-old beauty takes readers through a day in her hectic (yet rewarding) life, including her favorite NYC spots, culinary weaknesses, how she stays fit, and what it was like to work with iconic designer Tommy Hilfiger.

Set to hit newsstands on September 20, highlights from Miss Hadid's interview are below, along with a sneak peek at the gorgeous spread shot by Karl Lagerfeld and Bjorn Iooss - which features Gigi in ensembles by Fendi Haute Fourrure, as well as her looks from her new collaboration Tommy x Gigi.

On how she stays fit:
“I rode horses and played volleyball back home, so when I came to New York, it was really hard for me to just go to the gym. I need to have a sport and wake up and want to get better at something and boxing does that for me… My personal motto is “Eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane,” so if I’m in the mood, I’ll go to JG Melon in the West Village.”

On her favorite spots in New York City:
“My favorite places in the city are the South Street Seaport or any skyscraper-type view, just to look over the city. There used to be an Emack & Bolio’s on Houston, which is my favorite ice cream place—I love the Grasshopper Pie—and I would walk past it to the gym every day, but one day it was closed and I almost cried. Now I’ll just Postmate pints of it to my apartment. If I’m going shopping, I would go to Saks because I want it to be all in one place. I also love Topshop.”

On the process of creating the Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid collection:
“It was so fun; we would literally close down the Tommy building in midtown, like they were trying to kick me out. They just think of everything, they even made me cupcakes with my name on them. They made it very welcoming for me. I had “Gigi’s Studio” over my first design studio. I worked a lot with the textures first, before we started getting into shapes because I wanted it to feel good. I wanted the sweaters to be soft and the coats to be a good thickness and all of the little things. The second and third meetings were more of the details… I hope that people can feel that time we put into it when they put the clothes on because the quality was really important to us.”

On working with Tommy Hilfiger:
“Designing with Tommy was an incredible experience. Every time I see him he just reminds me that being positive is so important. He’s always happy and welcoming and warm and it trickles down through his entire company. Being nice is so important. It’s something that I think Tommy appreciates in me and something I appreciate in him, so that’s why we work really well together.”

On how she unwinds at the end of the day:
“I love to sing Broadway show tunes at home, which makes me the worst neighbor but is a good stress reliever. I love “Popular” from Wicked. That’s the only one I’ll tell you because I know at some point, someone’s going to ask me to do this and that’s the only one I’m willing to do publicly. My boyfriend gets into it too.”

World's Best Lasagna #recipe

Ingredients
World's Best Lasagna

 1 pound sweet Italian sausage
3/4 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup minced onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (6.5 ounce) cans canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
 2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
12 lasagna noodles
 16 ounces ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
 3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

1. In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
4. To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.
5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Kourtney Kardashian Covers Cosmopolitan October 2016

As the 12th season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians reaches its halfway point (it returns October 23), Kourtney Kardashian garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the October 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.

The 37-year-old brunette beauty hammed it up for the Yu Tsai shot front page while dishing about everything from family to her sex life and plans for the future.

Highlights from Miss Kardashian's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pick up a copy of Cosmo when it hits newsstands on September 6th!

On Kim waging a social smackdown on Taylor Swift:
"It’s her husband, and he’s family. The truth is the truth, so why not let it be known?”

On whether her children watch KUWTK:
“They’ve seen some of it, but no. I was in the shower, he [Mason] woke up, and it happened to be on. He was like, ‘Who is Blac Chyna? And Kiki [Kim] showed Larsa [Pippen] her vagina!’ I was like, this is why they don’t watch the show. Some of the content is just not appropriate.”

On her relationship with Scott Disick:
"…the idea of having my family together is amazing, but it’s not the way things ended up. They may end up there. I’m not sure. To me, it’s in God’s hands. If it’s meant to be, then things will line up… We definitely tried for a long time. But relationships are exhausting! Being able to focus on the kids and me right now is good. We say to each other all the time, ‘I’m the coolest ex-girlfriend/baby mama you could ever ask for!’”

On what will happen when Scott or she gets a new girlfriend or boyfriend:
“That’s what I don’t know. We’re so not there yet."

On future children:
"I would have more. I could see myself with six kids. I just don’t know what’s in God’s plan.”

#KendallJenner Talks #Kardashian Fame & Caitlyn In Vogue's September 2016 Issue

Having transcended childhood TV infamy to become a breakout model of her generation, Kendall Jenner was picked to adorn the September 2016 issue of Vogue magazine.

The 20-year-old beauty posed in a skin-baring Gucci frock for the front page shot while changing into dresses from the likes of Proenza Schouler and Maison Margiela for the Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot spread.

Set to hit newsstands on August 23rd, highlights from Miss Jenner's accompanying interview with Jonathan Van Meter are below!

On liking to get dirty, working with her hands and figuring stuff out:
“We had ATVs and go-carts, and I grew up riding them all the time, which is why I’m a good driver,” Kendall says. “It’s super-ironic to think about now, but it’s something I can thank my dad for: how much of a tomboy I was. That’s why I think the whole thing— her transition— was really hard for me, because I was like ‘But you taught me everything tomboy!’” It has gotten easier. “I knew it was going to have its rough phase,” she says. “But it’s all supernormal now. It’s not weird at all. Sometimes I look at a picture of my dad when she was a guy, and it makes me a little sad— I get emotional. You have to get past it— you’ve got a new person to love. It’s kind of a blessing in disguise— if that’s not the wrong way to say it."

On mention that the name Kardashian has turned into an oft unkind adjective:
“Oh my God, I toadually get what you’re saying,” she says. “People say a lot of what they think, and it’s not always positive. And we never say anything. We just take it. And then when people meet us, they’re pleasantly surprised. Because we aren’t what people think. One of the best lessons I ever learned from my sisters is not to take everything so seriously. Just leave it alone— it will pass in a week. That’s how I grew up. My sisters are so f**king strong, and they taught me and my little sister to just toughen up and not let it affect us. You know whats real.”

On the impact and experience her transgender father has had on her:
“We’re very accepting of people and being different and being who you are. We’re not judgemental. But obviously it’s strange to having your dad, who was so male, completely reverse. It is definitely a gnarly experience. But my whole life we would, like, catch her, and we would be like, What is going on here? I think we know, but do we? At one point, Kylie and I thought he was cheating on my mom, because he had makeup and nail polish. One time we found those squishy boob things. We found wigs. And then one time I actually ran into her. In this house. She had no idea. She would wake up really early just so she could dress up and move around the house and get that little kick for the morning, and then go back to being Bruce— take us to school, totally normal. So one morning I woke up at 4:00 A.M. so thirsty, came downstairs into the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of water. And as I was coming back out, my dad was coming down the stairs in, like, a wig and makeup and shoes—the full nine. And she didn’t see me. I literally froze. Please don’t turn left. Because she could either turn left or right. Thank God she turned right and— to this day!— has no idea that happened. That was the first time I had ever seen her.” She pauses for a moment. “My mom knew. She knew since their third date."

#MirandaKerr 's Swimsuit Sexy Harper’s BAZAAR September 2016 Shoot

Adding to her list of high profile features, the lovely Miranda Kerr opened up the doors to her new, eco-conscious Malibu home for Harper’s BAZAAR’s September 2016 issue.

For the fashion publication, set to hit newsstands August 16, the devoted model mommy donned attire including Hermès and La Perla swimsuits, as well as a Carolina Herrera gown paired with Jimmy Choo sandals, for the Douglas Friedman shot spread.

As for the location, Miss Kerr selected a charming ranch style abode near the beach with ocean views and eco-friendly touches that she now happily calls home - with highlights from her accompanying interview below!

On her decision to move from New York to Malibu (when she was with former husband Orlando Bloom):
“Orlando and I were living in New York, and we loved it there, but we were considering what the best options were for our son [Flynn]… We thought it would be a better lifestyle for Flynn. He could be outside playing year-round, playing in the sand. We could have a garden.”

On love at first sight for her new home:
“I knew that this house was it at first sight. It needed a lot of work, but it had a great view. It wasn’t right on the water, so it was protected from the wind and very private. I could just see the potential. It felt so right. In some ways it felt like a tree house. That was another thing that I loved. It’s all open, and the view of the ocean makes it feel more spacious.”

On the gift from fiancé Spiegel for her new home—a machine made by Island Sky which draws moisture from the humidity in the air and produces enough water for the entire house:
“This property was a dust bowl when I bought it and now it’s so green. Obviously I’m aware of the drought problem in California. This [Skywater 300] system really just pulls water out of the sky. It was a very thoughtful present because he knows how much I love a garden.”

On adding elements of her childhood into her home:
“When I was a child, I spent a lot of time at my grandma’s house. People were coming in and out. She was always in the kitchen making something. There was always food and snacks. She would play the piano, and we would sing and dance. So those were my two priorities. I wanted to have a piano and a great kitchen, which is always the heart of the home.”

10 Makeup Tricks Every Woman Needs to Know

We all put on makeup (at least some of the time), but is your technique yielding the best possible results? Here, Kimberly Soane, the director of artistry at Bobbi Brown, offers up some simple pointers to make sure we're using everything from concealer to bronzer to mascara right.
Never put concealer or foundation on your eyelids as a base, it will cause your eye makeup to crease.

Use your fingers to apply your foundation if you want sheer coverage and a brush if you more polished, medium to full coverage.

Always apply powder where you are shiniest first, which it usually your T-zone, with a very light dusting everywhere else.

You should put bronzer on your neck, face, and chest to even out your skin tone. Be sure to take a step back and make sure everything is the same color.

When applying blush, first smile, then start on the apple of the cheek, blend the blush back towards the top of the ear, then down toward the jawline.

Always apply your brow pencil or powder to the upper portion of the eyebrow to lift your face up.

You want to make sure your lipstick is not too defined at your cupid's bow (the top of your lip), and that it goes all the way out to the inner corners of your mouth. Be sure to press down hard as you apply.

Always start with a base shadow without any shimmer that matches the lightest skin tone on your face and apply all over your lid up to the brow. You should use this base shadow to make sure the darker shadows used on your lid up to the crease are properly blended
Instead of looking straight ahead at the mirror, get as close to it as possible, stick your head up and bring your chin toward the mirror. You want to look down as you apply, starting at the inner corner and making sure to go all the way out to the fold on the outside of the eye.

You don't want to do quick soft motions when you apply mascara. Instead, jam the wand into the root of the lash and do zigzag motions as you go up.
